H.E. Mr. Mahinda Rajapaksa, President of Sri Lanka visited India on 13-14 October 2007 for attending the Hindustan Times Leadership Summit. During the visit he met Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh on 14 October 2007. In the meeting both sides exchanged views on bilateral relations and recent developments in the region. The Sri Lankan President also met Mrs. Sonia Gandhi, President, Indian National Congress. At the HT Leadership Summit, the Sri Lankan President spoke on: ‘India in a regional context: A neighbour’s view’.
