SRI LANKAN STUDENTS SELECTED BY THE GOVERNMENT OF INDIA
FOR UNDER GRADUATE SCHOLARSHIPS FOR STUDYING IN INDIA

The Government of India provides up to 60 scholarships for young Sri Lankans to pursue undergraduate degree courses at prestigious universities in India every year.
The courses range from engineering, humanities, pure and applied sciences, technology, commerce and accountancy and others. The students go to the most prestigious universities in India like the University of Bangalore, Delhi, Pune, Osmania University, etc.
All scholarships cover full tuition fees for the entire duration of the course and students are also paid a monthly sustenance allowance of Indian Rs.3600/- at undergraduate level. The scholarship also includes an accommodation allowance up to of Rs.3000/- per month and an annual grant for books, stationary at the rate of Indian Rs.3600/-.
Besides, all ICCR scholars in India are provided full healthcare facilities, first class train fare and an annual grant of Indian Rs.2000/- for educational tours to various parts of the country, apart from several other auxiliary benefits.
At a function held at the Indian Cultural Centre, 133, Bauddhaloka Mawatha, Colombo-04 on 06.06.2008, the following 30 students were awarded scholarships by the High Commission. The names of the remaining 30 students will be announced shortly.
